Named after the famous battle the pub is curiously styled like a naval vessel from the time and you’ll find lots of curiosities lining the walls referencing Nelson’s famous victory.
It’s known from correspondence with Frederick Engels that Karl Marx stayed at the Trafalgar when it operated as a hotel in 1879 although he wasn’t too keen on the “horror of a monotonous daily lamb and mutton diet”. We’ve since removed the lamb and mutton from the menu and instead serve a lovely assortment of bar snacks.
